This cannabis flower was purchased from Chalice dispensary in Eugene, OR in April 2024
What we know: There’s some story behind this one. It was grown by a company called Highsman. The budtender informed me that this company is owned by none other than ex-NFL running back and outspoken cannabis enthusiast Ricky Williams. It is sold under their “Pregame” branding, which according to the website, is supposed to provide “motivation and alertness”.
When I looked into the genetic lineage, it turns out that it is the same as the strain Grape Stomper OG. I suspect that Highsman is doing the same thing that other celebrity-led cannabis companies (like Method Man’s TICAL) are doing — taking existing strains and re-branding them.
First Dose: Small dose (.045g smoked in a glass pipe – about one medium hit, held in for 5 seconds)
I take the hit after work and do some home tasks. I feel a little extra pep in my step. At the 7 minute mark my head and face are kind of buzzy and activated. I’m perked up but also a bit disoriented and there’s a weird pressure in my head. For some reason I’m yawning, even though I’m not really tired. I decide to go out and run some errands. It goes OK, but I’m functional but I feel a bit dumber. As the effects fade out I don’t feel that tired, but my brain is a bit distant even hours afterwards.
Final Thoughts: I’m not crazy about this one. While it does perk up your brain, it also de-focuses you. I’m not really able to find any reason to use this again. It’s not uplifting, motivational, or social. Nor it is it fun or goofy or sensory-enhancing. I don’t think I will be returning to this.
